Garden School & Plant Workshops

Gardening courses at Toolerstone allow our guests to creatively spend time in the beautiful gardens of Toolerstone in the Cheshire countryside. They are an opportunity to get close to nature through a hands-on experience in a designated teaching garden.

Our garden and plant workshops offer a variety of skills and creative activities our guests can participate in. You can build your own wooden vegetable planter and learn the basics of veg planting, composting and sowing seeds of the season. Our tutors can guide you through the process of building a wooden nesting boxes for birds which you are free to hang in your own garden or outdoor space. In another of our outdoor workshops you can learn how to propagate plants for all seasons and take home cuttings to transfer in to your own green space.

Our garden workshops are available all year round. As well as all materials and guidance, we provide endless mugs of tea and a homemade organic lunch. We tutor our guests every step of the way, invite them to enjoy our rural escape and learn new skills in a relaxed and friendly atmosphere.
